Instructors
Rick Brooks is co-founder of the 330-member Dane Buy Local initiative, vice-president of Wisconsin Partners for SustainAbility, board chair of Envest microfinance, and Outreach Program Manager in the Dept. of Professional Development & Applied Studies, UW-Madison. With more than 35 years of experience in business and community education, he specializes in marketing, health and social change. He has taught in the School of Human Ecology, School of Engineering, business and community development agencies throughout the U.S. and abroad. Other presenters/panelists will include local business leaders with expertise in green building, energy conservation, entrepreneurship and sustainability issues.
Robin Pharo has extensive professional experience in the green building and sustainability marketplace. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and also has extensive education from organizations working in improving the environment including the Department of Energy (DOE), the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Ms. Pharo currently holds a number of high profile positions within the area green marketplace. She is the Founder and President of Healthy Homes, a Green/Healthy Building consultancy firm in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. She is also President of the Treysta Group, LLC, a company dedicated to green business development and certification. Finally, she is Director of the Green Built Home Program, a program of the Wisconsin Environmental Initiate that supports voluntary Green Building programs for single and multi-family homes.
