SHRM Learning System Course In partnership with SHRM

The UW-Madison Small Business Development Center will be hosting a SHRM Learning System Course starting February 1, 2012. This program is designed to help human resource professionals prepare for the PHR/SPHR certification exams.

The UW-Madison course has average pass rates well above the national averages compared to those not taking the course in the last two years.

UW-Madison participants pass rates: National average pass rates:

PHR = 80%

SPHR = 65%

PHR = 62%

SPHR = 55%

 


Exam preparation

The SHRM Learning System Course is not required to take the PHR/SPHR exam but, we believe that it is the best preparation strategy available and it will greatly increase your chance to pass the exam the first time.  The benefits of preparing with the course versus self-study or self-directed study groups are:

  • Structured process ensures all areas of study will be discussed, studied and worked on every week for twelve weeks.

  • Comprehensive materials addressing the six areas of the exam.

  • Networking with other HR professionals who have different strengths and expertise within the field.

  • Facilitated by an experienced HR professional instructor who has taken the exam himself and has more than 20 years HR experience.

  • Get comfortable with the exam process with pre-test and post-tests and simulated test questions.

 

Course Description

The SHRM. Learning System Course is designed to provide you with an overview of key areas in human resource management. Materials include six modules that correspond to the six functional areas, responsibilities, and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). The program is offered in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as study material for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification examinations administered by HRCI www.hrci.org .

 

Mobile Study Tools

You can now access the SHRM Learning System’s online study tools using your mobile phone’s browser capabilities on devices such as iPhone, Blackberry, Palm Pre, Windows Mobile, or Google Android.
