April 7, 2010: Women As Leaders: 2010 Style – Chris Clarke-Epstein
What has changed? A recent Time magazine cover declared, “A new poll shows why American Women are more powerful-but less happy.” What about you? Are you finding more opportunities to lead and how happy are you about it? We’re glad Chris Clarke-Epstein, CSP is back to kick-off this year’s Perspective Series. She’ll share a 2010 perspective on Women and Leadership. We’ll explore the latest data on women’s place in both home and work, identify successful leadership strategies, and have some of the fun we’ve come to expect during Chris’ programs.

Chris Clarke-Epstein, CSP is a student of words–both spoken and written, a lover of storytelling–both true and slightly stretched, and a master of changes–both big and small. An award-winning speaker, trainer, and author with over 24 years of experience, she has created and presented programs that inspire people to look at their world from a fresh perspective, apply new knowledge, and make change.

Author of and contributor to nine books, Chris’ most recent book, 78 Important Questions Every Leader Should Ask and Answer, (AMACOM, 2002) again challenges readers to expand their understanding of what being a leader means and requires. Just like her programs, Chris’ books tell stories of real people living in the real world – encouraging readers and participants to re-evaluate and re-discover their own ability to have the lives they want. In addition, more than 7000 subscribers worldwide welcome her weekly ezine about change.

April 21, 2010: The ABC’s of Legendary Leadership – Elaine Beaubien
“Cultivate in yourself the qualities you admire most in others.” Arnold Glason
This program is designed for participants interested in uncovering, then cultivating their leadership potential. It defines the characteristics of leadership...from Attitude to Zest.
Leaders are not born, they are developed by knowledge, experience guidance, seasoning and integrity. Legendary Leaders have developed their talents to the point where they not only impact on events, they impact on the lives of those around them. They are the type of person that people remember with a great deal of respect and admiration. The type that inspires people around them to their peak efficiency while at the same time enhancing the quality of individual lives.

Elaine Estervig Beaubien is a respected educator, an experienced trainer, an accomplished speaker, a published writer and a successful entrepreneur. She is a member of the tenured faculty at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin and she is the sole proprietor of Management Training Seminars. Elaine travels all over the world delivering high energy, high content presentations and seminars.

In 1996, Elaine received the Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award. She was recognized for her ability to present topics of critical importance to her audience, her scholarship, her community service and her dynamic style. She was selected as one of the “Madison 100” . . . the people who, through their brains, talent, clout and charisma really make things happen in this city.” Elaine has also received the Professional Achievement Award, the Faculty Award for Excellence in Academic Advising, the first student sponsored excellence in teaching award at Edgewood College and an Athena Award Nomination from the Business Forum. The Estervig-Beaubien Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring Award was “created in honor of Professor Elaine Estervig Beaubien, whose dedication, energy and enthusiasm have inspired her students and colleagues for many years.” In addition to having the award named after her, she was the award’s first recipient.

May 19, 2010: Leadership in Every Day Life - Kathryn Jeffers
Frequently we think that leadership comes with a title and authority. Leadership as a position however, narrows leadership down to just a few of us. Leadership by behavior and attribute is far more expansive, and results in everyone being able to develop their leadership potential. "Leadership in Every Day Life" will teach people about crucial leadership rights and responsibilities, key characteristics required to lead, and daily practices that will increase their authentic leadership presence every day.

Kathryn Jeffers is a teacher and writer who helps people become more productive. She has a Masters Degree in Communication, is the author of" Don't Kill The Messenger", and is part of the program faculty in the Leadership Beyond Management course at the University of Wisconsin School of Business in Executive Education. Kathryn has brought practical ideas that work and memorial stories to thousands of people over the past twenty five years.
