Overview
In this “101” course, we will discuss elements to consider to creating a strong business website. Whether you are looking to create your website from scratch or want a “checklist” of recommendations to evaluate what you currently have, this event is a great place to start.
Some topics we will discuss include:
- Determining what information is most important to share with customers – don’t let your message get lost!
- Creating a succinct CTA (call to action)
- Keeping your content concise
- Considerations to making your website mobile-friendly
- Setting up your menu pages
- Suggested website resources (such as where you can find stock images)

Registration policy: Payment will be required at time of registration; you must have either a credit card or valid UW-Madison funding string to be able to register.
Cancellation policy: If you cancel before the program begins, there is a $25 cancellation fee. If you cancel after the program begins you will be charged for the full program fee. To cancel, call registration at 608-262-3909.

Instructor
Mandy Morrow
Mandy began as the Interim Associate Director of DesignLab in August 2017, after working at the College Library Computer and Media Center for 4 years and working towards a graduate degree in Classical and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at UW-Madison. She was hired on as the full-time Associate Director in January 2018. Mandy is also the web administrator for the DesignLab and co-chair of the annual UW-Madison IT Professionals Conference.
