What do you like about Accounting?
I was drawn to study accounting during my undergrad because I believe it builds a solid foundation in business. My accounting courses have taught me how organizations operate/grow and how to navigate regulation and taxation in the US. I also learned how accounting produces and communicates data and metrics, which are essential for key decision-making. I enjoy helping people interpret and understand accounting, and I like creating personalized examples to help people visualize certain concepts.
Impactful UW experience(s):
When building my class schedule at UW, I chose to take philosophy 211 and 341. I because super interested in quantitative reasoning and logical notation in these classes. Micro/macroeconomics and statistical measurement in economics helped me form a fundamental understanding of how societies make decisions in different conditions. Being a part of the club ski team on campus introduced me to a great variety of people, studying almost every major subject UW offers. I am trying hard to interact with a lot more people at UW during my last year of school.
Goal(s) for after graduation?
After college, I would love to travel and experience life in different cultures. I would like to keep in touch with the people I met at this university. Remaining mentally active after college is a goal of mine, I would like to lean more into my hobbies that allow me to be creative.
Favorite things to do outside of work and studying/Interests?
Outside of work and class, I love to go backpack camping and am currently planning a trip to the Redwood National Forest this fall with a friend. During the winter, I compete in alpine snowboard racing with UW’s club ski team and hope to individually qualify for the collegiate national championships in March.
