Building Your Site + Connecting with Content

WordPress provides software to self-host blogs and websites. This presentation will explain how to obtain a domain name, set up web hosting, set up email accounts, install WordPress and build a website. In addition, you will learn how to install plugins such as contact forms, e-commerce platforms and appointment scheduling to enhance your website.

It’s important to know how to manage the blog section of your website as part of a content marketing strategy. Content marketing can be used for inbound marketing, outbound marketing, branding, customer retention and SEO. You will get tips on creating  content such as blog articles, listicles and infographics as well as how AI tools come into play.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to set up and built a website
  • How to set up email accounts with your domain name
  • How to integrate keywords into your content and website
  • Best practices for content creation

Cancellations that occur less than 24 hours prior to the start of the program will be considered no-shows and may be removed from future programming and/or charged a course fee.

Brian Lee, APR, is the president of Revelation PR, Advertising & Social Media and Revelation Events. He also is a social media instructor at Madison College, a marketing instructor in the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation’s UpStart program for female and minority entrepreneurs, and a digital marketing specialist for the National Center for Economic Gardening.

A serial entrepreneur, Brian also runs MadisonStartups.com and EatDrinkMadison.com. He graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in journalism and major in strategic communications and also holds an MBA from Sam Houston State University.
