Who We Are:
The Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is part of a statewide network of SBDC’s working with business owners and entrepreneurs to facilitate business growth and improvement, and to launch successful new companies. Through no-cost consulting and low-cost entrepreneurial education, SBDC experts serve as resources for small and emerging mid-size companies. The Wisconsin SBDC Network is a proud part of the Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship in the University of Wisconsin System and is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Whether you want help with the skills of starting, running or growing a business, the UW-Madison’s Small Business Development Center is your business education resource. We’ve helped create successful business stories since 1980. Our staff provides service to the residence of Dane, Columbia and Sauk counties.
Classes for Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders
We offer a full range of non-credit business classes for both start-up’s, as well as established companies. Our classes are an excellent value, offered at convenient times and are taught by experts. The content is readily applicable to your business.

Business Consulting
Our Consultants work one-on-one with you to plan your start-up, solve operational issues, and prepare for growth. We work with start-up’s, as well as existing businesses in numerous industries. The service we provide is no-cost.

The Wisconsin SBDC at UW Madison is proud to partner with Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation to offer the Comienzos program. Comienzos provides business information, resources, counseling and select workshops for Spanish speaking entrepreneurs. The program is housed at WWBIC’s Madison office.
