What do you really like about Accounting? Understanding the why behind the numbers and how a business functions. I enjoy seeing how different pieces fit together, almost like a puzzle, to explain the broader story of a company and the decisions being made within it.

Accounting provides an incredibly strong foundation and truly is the language of business. As I have progressed through my accounting and finance coursework, as well as gaining real-life experience, I have seen how valuable that foundation is. It has helped me better understand financial performance, identify what is driving results, and think more critically about business decisions.

I also enjoy the balance accounting provides between structure and problem-solving. There is a clear framework, but you still need to analyze information, ask the right questions, and understand the bigger picture.

Impactful UW experience(s): Studying abroad in Lisbon and my involvement in Alpha Kappa Psi have been two of my most impactful experiences at UW. Studying abroad pushed me outside of my comfort zone and taught me how to adapt to unfamiliar environments, connect with people from different backgrounds, and become more comfortable with uncertainty. Through Alpha Kappa Psi, I’ve had the opportunity to grow as a leader and mentor while building relationships with students who have challenged me both personally and professionally. Together, these experiences have made me more confident, adaptable, and intentional about how I approach new opportunities.

Goal(s) for after graduation? To earn my CPA and begin my career in the finance and accounting world in a big city. I’m excited to continue learning, gain exposure to different areas of business, and build a strong foundation for my career.

Favorite things to do outside of work and studying/Interests? I love spending time outside and being active. I also enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, and lately I’ve been learning how to make sourdough bread.
